Ya, I'll never be a fan, either. One of the reason my family owns livestock on our farm is because of animal abuse. A neighbor neglected/abused his animals and when the police confiscated them, they asked us to temporarily house the poor creatures. We have continued to raise animals ever since. I agree that animal abuse isn't funny, but where the animal/human relationship comes in, I draw the line at a different place than PETA. You're right about exploiting women's bodies, as well. They have a tendency to exploit the objectification of women's bodies to promote animal rights, and (as you can see with this Obama case) they also have a tendency to overreact to things. I'm as big a fan of animal rights and proper treatment of animals as the next person, but sometimes PETA is just ridiculous. Would they be just as upset if a lion had swatted the fly? I haven’t been a fan of PETA for a long time (not since my naive early high school days).
