About

This blog is titled “Footsteps of Life” because it’s my life-journey.  I want to be able to look back someday on old posts and be able to recognize what events in my life lead to where I have ended up as a person.  Because of that, some posts may be emotional or personal.  I’m not trying to make anyone feel uncomfortable nor am I trying to look for attention or sympathy.  I’m merely using this blog as a journal.  I don’t expect you to read or comment on every entry.

I’m a Christian, but you don’t have to be one in order to enjoy my posts.  In fact, you may prefer to not be one, because, I admit, many times when I write about religion I am either venting about it or challenging it.  Also, I ask a lot of questions of people who don’t believe in Christianity (or practice a different religion) because I love to learn about other people’s views.  It is hypocritical to expect other people to research your beliefs before judging you without giving them the same courtesy.

I am young, so do not be surprised if you see me ask a lot of questions.  This blog is also part of my quest for knowledge and truth.  I will not give my real name, age or location on the web, but I can tell you that I’m a college student pursuing a degree in English (with a writing emphasis.)  My goal is to be a published novelist.

Anyway, enjoy browsing.

Blessings,
Emily Grace

p.s. Just so you know, I really do know how to spell, use proper grammar and punctuation. (I’m a student of English, for crying out loud. I better!)  However, my blog posts are usually written on-the-go, barely glanced over and certainly not edited.  Therefore, you will find many errors.  Please excuse them. I eventually find them myself (a week or so after posting) and change them, but usually that’s too late for my readers.  I apologize.  :)

  2. Awww, thanks Shawn! You’re the first person to add me!

As for worth reading…ditto. I will try return the favor when I figure out the whole blogroll thing! lol : )

  3. Thanks,
I actually saw your blog while trying to figure out how my blog works. Apparently there is a page that shows different blogs that have some of the same key words in your blog. Yours just happened to come up. It must be a God thing. It is refreshing to find out the next generation is finding God. My Dad and I just started a church in Central Florida and we are having a hard time getting people to come. You saw the web site, I changed that by the way, now my name takes you to my blog. I am new at this blog thing. Anyway, I will be praying for you. The last year of High School is awesome but leaving for college or whatever you are going to do, is scary.

  4. Well, hey, God works in mysterious ways! :)

Thanks for the prayer!!! I’m a firm believer that it works and is needed. (I do, by the way, plan on attending college next yr. For an English Major with Creative Writing emphasis)

Church planter? Holy, you are a busy man. lol Are you affiliated with a certain denomination? I will pray that God will work through your efforts down there and move in amazing ways!

    Blessings,
    Emily Grace

  5. We are affiliated with Southern Baptist but we don’t look or act Southern Baptist, plus we believe in getting out in the community and getting dirty. Thanks for your prayers, we need em.

  6. Hey,
I went to bibomedia.com, the entry before my last one, um, not sure it is appropriate for a Christian website, not trying to judge, but it has women on it that are less than modest. I wasn’t sure if you were aware of it or not.

  7. I am very disappointed that you are not a “real” southern baptist. I’ve always wanted to attend a southern baptist church so that I could dance. :( You cannot start this pattern of falling away from all that is the core of that denomination!! :) (joking, of course)

I’m planning on writing (hence why I started a blog). It’s been my dream since I was 10.

  8. Cool. What do you intend to write? My wife wants me to write a book for new Dad’s. She thinks I am funny and have great insight. I tell her I just read a lot of Fortune Cookies.

  9. Mainly fiction. But I will write anything I feel passionate about, pretty much. My dream is to become a novelist, however.

Fortune Cookies all say the same thing, you know. . . :)

  10. Maybe I should write a book- “Everything I Know I learned From Fortune Cookies!”

  11. Did i miss out anything? Lol….see you guys having a nice conversaion here.

Well said about you dear, wether lengthy or in brief, reading about you was interesting and I like how you proudly talked about your passion for christ.

  12. Thanks, T.J.!! And no, you didn’t miss anything, ’cause you were able to read it, right? lol

    Blessings,
    Emily Grace
