be happy

I work at my campus’ library in the cataloguing department.  Today, I met another man who works there.  He inspired me to blog.

He is a cheerful, middle-aged man who walks with a brace.  Because of his limp, you can hear him all the way across the library.

But if you look, you can also see his beaming smile that far away.  He was in an accident, and feels he’s been given a second chance at life.  He laughs, jokes, teases.  When he walks in, the room comes alive with smiles.  When he leaves, people talk about him, but not in a negative way.  Everyone admires and respects him.

I wish I could be that way.  Live as if this were my second chance!  That’s my goal and it’s my challenge to all of you!

Blessings,
Em
