Is this real?

fly swatterMSNBC came out with an article yesterday on the President vs. PETA.  Apparently they didn’t like the fact that he swatted a fly on camera during his interview with John Harwood.  This is unbelievable!  PETA has gone nuts!

  1. Frankly, I was afraid it would come to this

  2. Thanks for your comment Davis. I have to admit that personally, I NEVER saw that one coming!

  3. I haven’t been a fan of PETA for a long time (not since my naive early high school days).

They have a tendency to exploit the objectification of women’s bodies to promote animal rights, and (as you can see with this Obama case) they also have a tendency to overreact to things.

I’m as big a fan of animal rights and proper treatment of animals as the next person, but sometimes PETA is just ridiculous. Would they be just as upset if a lion had swatted the fly?

  4. Thanks Siu, for your comment. Ya, I’ll never be a fan, either. One of the reason my family owns livestock on our farm is because of animal abuse. A neighbor neglected/abused his animals and when the police confiscated them, they asked us to temporarily house the poor creatures. We have continued to raise animals ever since. I agree that animal abuse isn’t funny, but where the animal/human relationship comes in, I draw the line at a different place than PETA. You’re right about exploiting women’s bodies, as well. Google PETA and you won’t see pictures of animals, but of naked women. It’s disgusting.

  5. Really America? This is what we have come to? WOW!
